Hi there, Alyson, and welcome to planDisney!
Anyone planning on enjoying a day at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is my kind of Mouseketeer. In my opinion, it offers all of the best parts of Walt Disney World Resort in one convenient location. Where else can you find impeccable, immersive theming (
Pandora - The World of Avatar), tasty non-traditional theme park fare (
Satu'li Canteen), exhilarating thrills (
Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain), and uniquely costumed characters (the fearsome chipmunk-o-sauruses) all with a backdrop of exotic animals? It also features one of the only locations Guests are able to meet everyone's favorite magical mice as a couple at
Adventurers Outpost.
Your upcoming visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth sounds absolutely dreamy. While I've never personally enjoyed a stay at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge, the charmingly rustic atmosphere has it on my Walt Disney World Resort bucket list. One of my favorite perks available to Guests of Disney Deluxe Resort hotels (such as Wilderness Lodge) are the Extended Evening Theme Park Hours. Not only are Guests treated to theme parks with fewer crowds and shorter wait times, but you'll also have to option to join an
exclusive 6 PM virtual queue for
TRON Lightcycle / Run. If you haven't experienced it yet, Alyson, I can assure you there's nothing quite like entering the Grid after dark.
I just spoke with a helpful Cast Member who confirmed that if you are hoping to hop over to Magic Kingdom Park for
Extended Evening Theme Park Hours after your day in the wild of Disney's Animal Kingdom, you will indeed need a theme park ticket with the
Park Hopper option. Of course, as a Guest of a Disney Resort hotel, you'll have
access to theme parks 30 minutes before they open, no park hopper required! But, if you currently have standard theme park tickets and would like to upgrade them, I'm happy to share that you can do so through your My Disney Experience account on the Walt Disney World website by navigating to 'Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker' or in the My Disney Experience mobile app by selecting the three horizontal lines at the bottom of the home screen and then 'Tickets and Passes'. If you were to experience difficulties completing the process, you can always reach out to a friendly Cast Member at the
Existing Tickets Line for assistance.
I hope this was helpful, Alyson, and that you have a wonderful vacation. If you get the chance, I hope you'll enjoy some buffalo chicken chips from
Trilo-Bites in DinoLand U.S.A. on my behalf. If you have any additional questions before you head into the magic, feel free to
stop back by. I'm always happy to help!
Hakuna Matata,
Lizzie
