Hello, Ian! We’re so glad you sailed back to planDisney with another great question. It sounds like you’re planning the best of both worlds: a magical Walt Disney World holiday and a little adventure beyond, perhaps a cruise or a Florida coast getaway!
The good news is you can absolutely leave your
Disney Resort hotel for a few nights and return to continue your stay, as long as you’ve kept your reservation for the entire time. You’ll still be paying for those nights while you’re away, but the perk is that your room will remain yours, your belongings can stay safely where they are, and you can simply walk back in after your trip without checking in again. I always recommend letting the front desk know your plans so they’re aware you’ll be away for a bit. If you have a rental car, you can even leave it at the resort while you sail if you’re planning to use
Disney Cruise Line transfers to the port.
If you’d prefer not to pay for the unused nights, your other option would be to make two separate reservations; one for before your trip away and another for when you return. This does mean you’d check out and back in, and there’s a chance you could be assigned a different room. You’d also need to take all your belongings with you or arrange for storage, which can be less convenient.
From one Eean to another Ian, I hope this helps you chart a smooth course for your 2026 holiday! If you’d like, I can also help you sprinkle a little Disney magic into the cruise portion of your plans.
“Sea” ya real soon,
Eean
