If staying at a WDW resort, I can enter the park anytime during EMH correct and they will give me a wristband at the front gate. So for example, EMH at MK are from 8 -11, but Epcot is open till 9. I can stay at Epcot till close, then head over to MK right

Your are correct that guests of the WDW resort hotels are welcome to enter the park at any time during Extra Magic Hours. All you needs is a valid park admission ticket and your Key to the World Card (room key). They don't even issue wristbands any more, you just need to show your KTTW Card to get access to the rides and attractions. Because of this, you should make sure that all members of your party, even children, have their KTTW Cards with them when you're going to Extra Magic Hours.
