Hi Kathy! Welcome to planDisney!
I'm excited to hear about your upcoming family visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth! Before you know it, you'll be arriving for an amazing stay filled with unforgettable memories.
Venturing over to
Disney Springs on your check-in day is the perfect idea. Depending on what time you arrive, heading straight to the parks can be a bit too much. The laid-back nature of exploring some shops and dining locations makes this a great choice for your first night.
If you're looking for a fun environment to dine in at Disney Springs, look no further than the
Rainforest Cafe or T-REX. Each of these restaurants offers an interactive experience with immersive atmospheres and a variety of audio-animatronic creatures. My only hesitation with these recommendations is that the experience may be a bit overwhelming for a 2-year-old. However, if you think they will enjoy it, then these may be the perfect places to check out.
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' is another fantastic choice. This southern-style dining location mixes a fun environment with delicious menu offerings. The Thigh High Chicken Biscuits are one of the more popular items and perfect for Guests to share as a starter. The Fried Chicken & Doughnuts is another classic that you will not find at many other places. There is also ample space for large groups.
I hope this helps you narrow down to a few options, Kathy!
