Hello! Will be staying at VWL without a rental car for 10 days. We have a 7am resv at Chef Mickey's. Will we have time to make it to the rope drop MK? Also suggestions for transportation that early in the am? Love your panel!

    Hi Marylne,

The Villas at Wilderness Lodge are my DVC home resort. It really does feel like home.

The usual method of getting from the Wilderness Lodge to the Contemporary (Chef Mickey's) is direct boat from the WL dock to the Contemporary dock. However, depending on the weather and crowd levels, the boat may not be running that early. I would stop by the front desk of the WL the day before your meal and ask what the boat schedule will be in the morning. If the boats are not running, the front desk will be able to let you know whether they're providing a bus alternative or whether it makes more sense to take a cab. A cab from the WL to Contemporary will be well under $10.

A typical character meal lasts about an hour. Assuming that the Magic Kingdom opens at 9:00 a.m. on your Chef Mickey day, then you should have no trouble at all making it to the MK for rope drop. You could either walk or take the monorail in about 10 minutes, putting you at the park well ahead of opening time.

Enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World.
