We're staying at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge in April. How far a walk is it to Mickey's BYBBQ and to campfire with chip & dale? Is it faster to walk or take the boat? We'd like to walk if its not too far. Thanks!

    Howdy Erin!

Ooooh Boy! Get ready for a "Hootin' Tootin' Hoedown" at Mickey's Backyard BBQ. I hope you are ready to have a fantastic time with some of your favorite Disney friends in this open-air pavilion.

While you could certainly board water transportation to The Settlement at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, you might decide to stretch your legs before feasting on delicious dinner delights. If so, you can stroll along the paved path that winds from the bus pick-up area in front of Disney's Wilderness Lodge to the Settlement. This path is about a mile long so you could expect this walk to take about 15-20 minutes. There has also been an option for an unpaved nature path, but my understanding is that this is at least temporarily closed due to the construction going on around the property. Consider checking with Resort Cast Members for the latest construction updates when you arrive.

Come on back and see us with any other questions, Erin! The Disney Parks Moms Panel is here to help.

    Wishing you many magical memories,
