We are staying (I think) at Port Orleans Riverside for 10 days in 8/2013 for our honeymoon. We may rent a car for the fact that while I have been to Disney a few time my fiance has not been there since 1984. I'm not sure how he will like the bus aspect?

    Hi again Kathel,

    Congratulations on the upcoming wedding!

Given that you're staying at a larger moderate hotel (POR) and have possibly bus-reluctant companion, then I would suggest that you do rent a car. With a car, you'll have maximum flexibility to come and go as needed.

However, even with a car, I still suggest that you take a bus when you go to the Magic Kingdom. Because the MK parking is not directly at the park, this is that one place where taking the bus is often faster than driving on your own.

Given that you're adults on your honeymoon, you'll likely want to make meal reservations at some of the resorts and Downtown Disney. Having a car will cut down on your travel time to these destinations a great deal.

I do have a tip about car rental in the summer months. Be sure to bring towels into the car and drape them over the seats while you're parked during the day. The inside of vehicles can get HOT in the summer at WDW.

Please let us know what else we can do to help you plan a fabulous honeymoon.
