Hi! We are Staying at the Swan Reserve and on the app the tickets say Park Planning Pass and Not Valid for Admission. Will I still be able to book dining and lightning lanes prior to the trip?

Hi Linda, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! The BoardWalk area is my favorite place to stay when I’m at Disney World, with the many dining options, street performers at night, and of course, the proximity to EPCOT. So, let’s make sure you’re all set to make your magical reservations!

Those Park Planning Passes are placeholders that allow you to book Lightning Lane Passesdining reservations, and Enchanting Extras in advance. In fact, as a Swan Reserve guest, you’ll be able to book dining reservations and Enchanting Extras 60 days before check-in and Lightning Lane Passes seven days before check-in for your entire length of stay (up to 10 nights for dining and up to 14 days for Lightning Lane selections). This is an amazing perk since availability for popular rides and dining reservations can book up quickly. And the pixie dust doesn’t stop there. You’ll also get access to both Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Theme Park Hours, giving you even more time in the parks!

As for your actual theme park tickets, I chatted with a Cast Member who confirmed that they’ll be added to My Disney Experience as you get closer to your trip.

While you’re at the Swan Reserve in December, be sure to visit the other resort hotels around Crescent Lake to check out their holiday decorations. Both BoardWalk Inn and Beach Club Resort typically have gingerbread displays in their lobbies, along with a beautiful Christmas tree and holiday treats for sale. Seeing the gingerbread carousel at Beach Club is one of my family’s must-dos, and it even has a different theme every year! And the neighboring Yacht Club Resort usually has a miniature winter village complete with a little moving train.

You’ll also be close to EPCOT when the International Festival of the Holidays is underway. Keep an eye on Disney Parks Blog for more details on this year’s event. In the meantime, you can look at last year’s foodie guide to start getting excited!

I’m wishing you a wonderful visit to Disney World during the merriest time of the year! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome at planDisney.
