We are staying that The Swan, but have breakfast res. at Chef Mickey's. Wondering how much time to allot for travel. I've read 1.5 hours, but figured this was in general. Is there a bus route map to better gauge distance and time? THANKS!

Yes, that is probably a bit on the high side. First let's consider your route. There are no published route maps and schedules, but the official route would be to take a bus to Downtown Disney, and from there transfer to a bus to the Contemporary.

However, assuming you don't have a drastically early dining time, I would suggest that the best way to get there is to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom, then either walk or monorail over to the Contemporary Resort. The latter is probably faster, but if you are doing well on time you may find that the monorail is a fun way to really get the day started right. After all, who doesn't get excited by riding the monorail into the Contemporary!

Overall this route should take you about 45 minutes from the time that you get on your bus. Remember that they should come about every 20 minutes.

If, however, you have reservations at a time that is prior to the Magic Kingdom's opening time, you may have to look for an alternative route. Just chat with your resort's front desk to confirm what is the best way to go.

I am glad to answer any follow-up questions. Just send them to me from my bio page.

Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
