Hi Jen! Great name by the way! My family just returned from a magical stay at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. I have an 8 year-old daughter, and 4 and 3 year-old sons, so I was also torn on what area of the Resort to choose. We ended up staying in the Cars section and we were EXTREMELY happy with our choice.
The Nemo section of the Resort is the most convenient to the main "Big Blue Pool", and the Landscape of Flavors food court. However, The Cars section in my opinion is simply perfect. My children ran promptly in the direction of Radiator Springs once they exited the lobby, even though they didn't have a clue as to what section our room was in. (We kept it a surprise.) All my kids loved being able to touch and take pictures with their favorite Cars characters including Ramone, Fillmore, Tow Mater, and Lightning McQueen. Once we got into the room, the oohs and aahs continued, we even had to solve a fight over who would get to sleep in the Tow Mater pull-down bed.
The walk from our room in building 1 to the food court and bus stops took us about five to ten minutes, depending on how many photos we stopped to take. The Cars section is very conveniently located, I know you won't be disappointed if you reserve a room in this section. We also really enjoyed the Cozy Cone Pool. It was often far less crowded then the Big Blue Pool, and located just steps from our room.
Whatever section you decided to choose remember you can walk around and enjoy each different courtyard at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. I really think my family could have spent hours enjoying the landscaping and design elements at the Resort property. I am a HUGE fan of the Cars section, but you can not make a wrong choice.
Have an Animated Day,
~Jen
