I am staying in a studio villa at both Beach Club and Boulder Ridge. If I want to do laundry in the laundry room, should I bring my own detergent or is there any available to use? Also, can I request additional towels in between housekeeping services?

    Hi Brittany!

Laundry doesn’t really ever take a vacation, does it? As the mother of four, it seems that the laundry never stops. But I do prefer to do laundry on vacation so that we can pack less, and I don’t come home with suitcases full of dirty clothes. You are smart to plan in advance!

Guests staying in a Deluxe Studio Villa will have access to the villa laundry room with their room key. The washers and dryers in these laundry rooms are complimentary for Guests of the villas, but the detergent supply seems to vary. When I have used the villa laundry room in the past, they typically had machines that sold small boxes of eco-friendly detergent for $1. However, some Guests have recently found detergent complimentary in various laundry rooms. Since it can vary from location to location, I prefer to bring my own laundry pods with me. This way I get a brand and scent I know works for us, and I don’t have to worry about quarters to purchase detergent. To be safe, I would plan on either packing your own, or purchasing detergent in the laundry room.

Did you know you can use a company called Laundry View that partners with Disney? Laundry View will show you the available machines in each laundry room on property. This helps you know when a washer is free so you don’t have to make a trip down there unnecessarily. You can even have it send you a text when your load is complete!

If you’d like to request extra towels, you can do this by calling Mousekeeping from your room phone. While they will not remove the old towels until the room is serviced on the fourth or eighth day, they will bring fresh towels to you. You’ll also find complimentary towels for use near the pool, so no need to bring your room towels with you for swimming. There are typically plenty of towel racks and hooks in the room if you want to hang them up to dry for another use.

I hope this helps with your planning, Brittany! Please let us know what additional questions you have about your visit. We are here to help!
