Will be staying at STS over the Wine & Dine Half Weekend. Should we rent a car to get from park to park or rely on the buses? We usually stay a WL to use the Water Taxis. Just trying to maximize transportation time w/a 6 yo and 9 month old. Thanks so m

    Howdy Thomas!!

This is such a great question but so difficult to answer!

My hubby and I love Disney Transportation but also enjoy having a car when we are at Walt Disney World Resort with young children.

A good friend of mine typically rents a car.  However, during her most recent vacation, the rental car spent a few days parked at the resort because she visited the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival.  Given that she didn't know exactly when or how many adult beverages she might consume, she made the very smart decision to leave the car at her resort and take advantage of Disney Transportation.  Her situation was a bit different than yours.  She was not attending during a marathon weekend nor did she have her daughter with her.

You might want to think about how you plan to spend each day.  If you will be riding the buses during potentially peak hours when the buses will be packed with excited Guests heading to and from the theme parks, you might consider renting a car.  If you feel that you will primarily be travelling at times when the buses aren't as crowded and/or if you feel that you may want to enjoy all that the Food & Wine Festival has to offer, Disney Transportation might be a perfect fit.  If you don't mind spending the money for a car that will potentially sit in a parking lot, you might consider renting a vehicle and using a combination of both your vehicle and Disney Transportation as needed.

I don't know if I have helped or caused even further questions for you.  I would, most likely, depend on Disney Transportation but I absolutely understand and appreciate the advantages of having a car available.

Thanks for your question and please let me know if you need any further information.  Have a magical day!
