    We are staying at All Star Sports, how close is the nearest shopping mall/grocery store, outisde of the Disney property, we will want to take a taxi from our resort to get there.

    Hi, Amy!  The closest grocery store is Goodings, which is right at the end of the Downtown Disney resort area, in a shopping center called the Crossroads.  Goodings will have just about everything you could possibly need, but they do not have the best prices.  One convenient thing about Goodings, however, is they will deliver to your resort if you have an order that is more than $50.  That may be worth saving cab fare.

    Just a few miles from Goodings, going north on Apopka-Vineland Road, you will find a Publix, a Winn-Dixie, and an Albertson's grocery store.  All three feature lower prices than Goodings, but will cost you a little more in cab fare.

    As for shopping malls, Orlando is bursting with them!  The closest mall to Walt Disney World is the Premium Outlet Mall.  This is an open air mall, but they do have covered areas and a food court.  For regular shopping malls, the two closest are the Florida Mall - which is right down Sand Lake Road about 25 minutes from Walt Disney World; and the Mall at Millenia - also about a 25 minute drive, but on I-4 to the Conroy Road exit.  These are both traditional shopping malls, and cab fare from the Walt Disney World area to either of these malls will be about $36.
