Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. This special event has been on my Disney World bucket list for a long time, and I'm hoping to take my family next time we visit. You're sure to have a fantastic time singing, dancing, and roasting marshmallows with Chip 'n' Dale before settling in for a movie under the stars. What could be better? I'm happy to share transportation options that will get you from Disney's All-Star Movies Resort over to the Fort and the campfire.
Parking at the Fort is typically reserved for guests with a dining or resort reservation, and even I have been turned away at the front gate when trying to visit on previous trips. I have heard anecdotal reports about guests being allowed to park for the campfire, but I wouldn't want you to drive over there only to be turned away. Since you are staying on property at a Disney Resort hotel, you can take advantage of convenient and complimentary transportation to get where you're headed.
One way to get from All-Star Movies to the Fort is to take a bus over to Magic Kingdom, then hop on a boat at the dock heading toward Fort Wilderness. Once you arrive, walk a short distance to the Settlement Depot bus stop and get on the internal shuttle heading toward Loops 900-1000. This stop is right across the street from the Meadow Trading Post. Pass the Trading Post on your left and cross the bridge, then turn left toward the Bike Barn. You'll see the campfire area straight ahead! You may want to budget an hour of time or more to follow this plan, but there is a quicker option available.
Another way to get to the campfire is to take a
Minnie Van from your resort. This service is built into a popular ride share app, and there is a fee to use it. You will save time using buses and boats with this method, so you'll need to determine if the cost of the ride is worth the time you'll save.
I know you and your travel party will have a blast at the campfire no matter which method you use to get there. When the festivities are complete, you can catch a ride back to your resort by heading back to Magic Kingdom and grabbing a bus there, or by summoning another Minnie Van. If it were me, I'd probably take the complimentary transportation on the way there, then snag a Minnie Van for the ride home, especially if my kids were feeling sleepy.
One final suggestion I have for you is to pair your campfire with a fantastic dinner beforehand. Check out the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, which is also located at Fort Wilderness inside Pioneer Hall. This dinner and a show is full of hootin' and hollerin', knee slappin', and all-you-care-to-enjoy dishes of fried chicken, ribs, mac and cheese, coleslaw, and (perhaps most importantly) strawberry shortcake. I recently dined here with a group of 12, and we had the absolute best time!
