Hi Angela, and welcome to planDisney.
In Florida, passengers travelling in taxis and rideshare services are exempt from the car seat laws, so you would not have to have a car seat. That said, some drivers may refuse children without a car seat, so please ensure your driver is aware if you wish to transport your Mousketeer without a car seat. We have used inflatable booster seats to help our family travel lightly and safely on
Walt Disney World vacations. It may be something you may like to bring too.
On my most recent visit, I used Mears Connect and can attest to its efficiency and safety. It was simple to use, and the onboard entertainment is likely to happily occupy your 5-year-old. Again, no car seats are required here.
Disney's Minnie Vans, accessed through the Lyft app, provide transportation around the Walt Disney World Resort with access to two car seats. All the complimentary transport throughout the Resort, such as
Disney Skyliner, is accessible with no additional requirements for children.
I hope this helps you to plan your upcoming visit, Angela! We're always happy to help at planDisney if you need us again.
Have a magical vacation!
Louise
