Hey there, hi there, ho there, Crystal!
Welcome to planDisney! I recently stayed at
Shades of Green Resort at Walt Disney World Resort for the first time, and oh boy, I hope you and your family are ready for a wonderful visit! It is the perfect resort for military families. My daughters loved the slides at
Mill Pond Pool and playing on the playground. Shades also has an arcade for gamers of all ages inside
Evergreens.
Garden Gallery offers a delicious breakfast buffet (complete with Mickey Waffles and an omelet station). The bus transportation was also very quick and gave us quick access to Disney's Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT via the Transportation and Ticket Center.
Shades of Green is classified as a "deluxe" resort (alongside the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels), which allows its Guests to participate in
extended evening hours at the theme parks (available at select parks on select nights)! Guests also get to participate in Early Theme Park Hours. You certainly can Park Hop from Disney's Hollywood Studios to Magic Kingdom, but if you want to join the Happy Haunts at
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, you will need a separate ticket to participate. You can order your tickets from Shades of Green with the military discount by filling out their
Advance Ticket Request Form and emailing it (along with a screenshot of your resort confirmation) to tickets@shadesofgreenresort.zendesk.com. A ticket representative will contact you for the sponsor's information and for payment options in the order the form was sent.
Crystal, I hope all of this information was helpful! It's always so fun helping other Texans plan their visits to Walt Disney World, and from one military spouse to another, thank you for your family's service! Please visit planDisney again if you need additional pixie dust planning your visit. You've got a friend in me!
Magic Awaits!
