    We are staying at Shades of Green next month and plan on going to Magic Kingdom one morning for the Extra Magic Hours. We will be walking to the Poly to take the monorail and I was wondering how early the monorail starts running during morning EC

    Hi, Allison!  I love the big, spacious rooms at the Shades of Green resort.  What a great place to vacation.

    Walt Disney World transportation begins running about an hour before the opening of the theme parks, so you can expect the monorail to be running an hour before Extra Magic Hours begins.  The Magic Kingdom usually opens at eight in the morning for Extra Magic Hours, so you can expect the monorail to begin running around seven.

    Transportation at Shades of Green usually begins at eight o'clock.  In case you decide to sleep in a little bit, you should still make it to the Magic Kingdom using Shades of Green transportation by about 8:20.
