Kachow, JoAnne!
Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for racing by with your question. How exciting that you are planning an upcoming stay at a
Walt Disney World Resort. Your magical adventure is just around the riverbend.
JoAnne, to get
from the Orlando International Airport to one of the Walt Disney World Resorts, you have a few options. You can rent a car, take an Uber or Lyft, or you can book the Mears Connect Shuttle, as Disney no longer manages the to/from airport transportation. One thing I will note about the Mears Connect Shuttle is that when returning to the airport at the end of your stay, they will provide you a Resort pick up time which is usually at least three hours prior to your flight departure. If you have an early flight, this pick up time will be very early so that is something to note.
When you arrive to Orlando and after picking up your luggage from baggage claim, you can follow the signs to the ground transportation pick up area. There is adquate signage, but usually it is on the ground floor and when you walk out, you will see all of the shuttles parked there. As the shuttles come and go regularly, there is usually someone there who can direct you to which shuttle to board.
The Mears Connect shuttle website can walk you through booking your transportation and any other details you need to know. This site is independently operated, and is not part of Disney, so you do need to book directly with Mears if you choose this form of transportation to get to your Disney Resort. But, they regularly bring Guests to and from Disney Resort hotels, and they offer many shuttles continuously throughout the day and night. So, you should have no trouble getting to your Resort and back to the airport at the end of your stay.
One last tip for you, JoAnne. Orlando airport security line can be very long, especially during the busier travel seasons like Spring Break. While I know how sad it is to leave Disney at the end of a vacation, be sure to leave extra, extra time on your return flight day.
At
Saratoga Springs, you can check with the Front Desk for the shuttle pick up area at the Resort and the best way to get your luggage to the pick up area on your departure day. I would recommend leaving time for getting to your shuttle on time and for getting to the airport. You will need time in case there is any traffic on the way to the airport and to get through the security line, especially if you are flying out of the main terminal. But, if you take the Mears Connect shuttle, they will pick you up early enough that you shouldn't have a problem.
I hope this helps you, JoAnne! If you have any further Disney vacaiton planning questions, make a pit stop back here and I'll help you faster than fast and quicker than quick.
Git-R-Done!
