Yo Ho, Yo Ho, Brian!
How exciting that you are sailing into the great wide somewhere on a Disney Cruise Line vacation. Our family has taken several Disney cruises and it's such a wonderful way to be immersed in the magic of Disney while also exploring dazzling places we never knew!
If I had my choice, Brian, it would be a pirate's life for me aboard any Disney Cruise Line cruise. Last year, our family enjoyed a five-night sailing on the
Disney Dream out of Port Everglades and it was a dream indeed!
I double checked with Disney Cruise Line and fellow planDisney panelists who have sailed at the
Concierge level on a Disney Cruise Line. Both confirmed that the only transportation offered to and from Port Everglades and Fort Lauderdale airport is the traditional - but very comfortable and efficient - coach bus transportation. While everything related to your Disney Cruise will have Mickey's special touch and of course that legendary Disney magic, unfortunately, he doesn't seem to offer a specific "white glove ground transport" option. There are outside vendors not part of Disney Cruise Line who offer a "white glove" level service. However these services are separate from the transportation you can add through Disney Cruise Line and are independently operated and managed.
If it is the Disney ground transportation you booked, rest assured it is a well operated and organized process. Our family took the bus transportation from the port to Fort Lauderdale airport. It is only about a 15 minute ride to and from Fort Lauderdale airport and the whole experience was smooth sailing.
One thing to note is this page about the
ground transportation to and from Port Everglades from Fort Lauderdale airport. It outlines some important information for you to know, including flight times to be mindful of.
Brian, for your question about the nights for the Disney Dream, I am unsure what you are asking specifically. So, I will share a few pieces of information. The
April 12th sailing out of Fort Lauderdale departs Saturday, April 12th, 2025, and returns Thursday, April 17th, 2025. In addition to your departure day, it looks like you will also be enjoying two glorious days at sea, a stop in Cozumel, Mexico, and one at Castaway Cay (my favorite,) but not in that order.
For the themed evenings, the Disney Cruise Line Cast Member said you can expect Pirate Night on Sunday as it is typically on the second or third night of sailing. However, this is always subject to change. Be sure to pack your best pirate gear so Captain Hook doesn't make you walk the plank!
I recommend downloading the
Disney Navigator app, as it will be your most up to date guide prior to and during your cruise so you don't miss a minute of the magic. It is where you will discover which activities and events are available throughout the days and evenings on your sailing, including deck parties, live shows and entertainment, Pirate Night and even restaurant menus. It will be your personal map to the treasure trove of fun throughout your sailing.
I hope this helps you, Brian. If you have any further questions, sail back here to see me and I'll be so happy to help you find the treasure that you seek.
Fair Winds and Following Seas,
Keri
