Hi there, Stephanie!
Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for your question!
Disney's Beach Club Resort is my favorite at Walt Disney World Resort, and I hope you are ready for a relaxing, magical visit! The new room remodels feature updated flooring, furniture, and a calming palette of blues, whites, and browns, which is so nice to return to after a long day at the parks! Be sure to stop by
Beach Club Marketplace for any quick-service meals, and visit Disney's Yacht Club Resort for breakfast at
Ale & Compass Restaurant (if you haven't made a reservation yet!) It is one of my favorite restaurants for breakfast, and the value can't be beat!
Stormalong Bay is the perfect pool complex for Mouseketeers young and old, and be sure to grab a bacon cheeseburger at
Hurricane Hanna's Waterside Bar & Grill while you're there!
The Kitchen Sink Sundae at
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is such a unique and fun experience for sweet tooths of all ages! I attempted the challenge last year with my family, and while we weren't able to finish it all, it certainly was fun! Beaches & Cream is a highly popular restaurant at Walt Disney World, I suggest making an advanced dining reservation before arriving. If you don't find any before your visit, you can always check the My Disney Experience mobile app while you are there and select "Join Walk-Up List". You can check with the host outside Beaches & Cream to see if there are any openings that day too. There is a walk-up window available next to the restaurant where you can purchase milkshakes and ice cream as a backup too, but The Kitchen Sink is only available in the restaurant.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful time celebrating your grandson's birthday! Be sure to ask for birthday buttons at the Front Desk when you check in to celebrate his special day. You can also take your button to Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe at Disney's Magic Kingdom Park and have it personalized for a small fee. Stephanie, thank you so much for visiting planDisney!
