Hi, Kelli! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for stopping by with another great question. My family has enjoyed days along the Sassagoula River at Disney's Port Orleans Resorts many times. The
French Quarter side of these resorts is a favorite of my older daughter, while my younger one prefers Riverside. It may have something to do with the Royal Guest Rooms over there! She just loves resting in bed while fireworks light up the bayou on the headboard.
You are welcome to make requests for your stay at the resort, but please understand that this will simply be a request and cannot be guaranteed.
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside has been undergoing enhancements for around a year and work is nearing completion. From what I understand, the Alligator Bayou rooms are completed and the buildings of Magnolia Bend are now being refined. Acadian House and Magnolia Terrace should be complete by the time your vacation begins, which will leave Oak Manor and Parterre Place to be addressed. Note that the remaining two buildings house the Royal Guest Rooms, so if you have not booked one of those type rooms, then you will have no worries about being placed near an area of construction. If you have booked a Royal Guest Room, then know that the section being enhanced will be closed off and work will be limited to daylight hours. The room enhancements really should not interfere with your stay at any of the resort's buildings. Still, if you would like to request to stay at a different building, give
Disney Resort Reservations a call as soon as possible and ask that they note on your reservation that you would like a room away from the refurbishment being completed. Again, please understand that this is simply a request and cannot be guaranteed.
Thanks again for stopping by and please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted adventures!
