    Hi - We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside in September. We have a garden view room. Where should we request our room be located? Thanks for your help! 

    Hi Megan!

    Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort is one of my absolute favorite moderate resorts.  With beautiful landscaping and great ambiance, guests will enjoy the southern charm that POR is well known for.

    There are two resort sections in Port Orleans.  Alligator Bayou offers guests the opportunity to stay in small "lodge" type buildings, with themeing from the deep Louisiana Bayou.  Magnolia Bend offers the large mansion type buildings, and house the newest themed rooms, Royal Guest Rooms.  Personally, I love the "Gone With The Wind" feel of Magnolia Bend, and would suggest you request a room in the Magnolia Mansion.  It is a short walk to the Riverside Mill as well as Ole man Island and has a bus stop immediately past the parking lot.  If you are looking to stay in the Alligator Bayou section, then I would recommend buildings 37 or 38, which are in close proximity to the Fishin' Hole and Ole' Man Island.  The independent website PortOrleans.org is a great resource, with maps and vast information on all that POR offers.
