We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside in Oct and have some dining reservations and extras booked in the A.M. How much time should we budget to take the bus each morning for each park? And how early/late do the busses run so we don't get stranded.

    Welcome to planDisney, Martin!

Thank you for taking the time to send us your first question. It is a pleasure to help you plan pixie-dusted memories for your upcoming visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.

There is nothing like staying right in the middle of the magic! I am happy to hear you will be staying at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. I love enjoying the beautiful resort grounds and pool, taking a walk over to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter for delicious beignets, and going on a water taxi ride all the way to Disney Springs.

As a Guest staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you will also get to take advantage of benefits like complimentary transportation. Bus transportation between Disney Resort hotels and the parks usually starts about 45 minutes before theme park opening and ends one hour after closing. Please note this can vary because our friends at Walt Disney World Bus Service know many Guests have early and late reservations. If you have any concerns during your visit, Cast Members at your Disney Resort hotel and at the parks can assist you find the best transportation option.

I recommend planning 1.5 hours to travel between destinations within the Walt Disney World Resort. I know this may seem like a lot of time, but it will give you time to travel comfortably without having to rush your travel party. It will also give you time to reconsider transportation options if you think you might be late for a reservation. Whenever I have a very early reservation, I think it is easier to request a Minnie Van via the Lyft app or use a rideshare service.

planDisney tip: To check what time the next bus is arriving at your resort to take you to the parks, simply tap your reservation on the My Disney Experience app and select “See Bus Times.”

I hope this information is helpful, Martin. Come back to visit us if you have additional questions, and have an unforgettable visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.

    Best magical wishes,
    Thiana
