We will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside for 1 night on April 19 (prior to our cruise on the Disney Fantasy). We are Roman Catholic and want to attend Good Friday mass. Where will we be able to do that? Thanks!

    Greetings John,

Your Easter plans sound practically perfect in every way. I can’t think of a better way to spend the Holidays than on land AND sea!

I understand the importance of attending Good Friday mass, so I looked into plans in and around Walt Disney World. In the past, religious services have been held at Disney’s Contemporary Resort on Easter Sunday. Currently, there are no plans for religious services on Good Friday on Resort property.

But, there are quite a few local dioceses that are celebrating with special Easter services. One of them, Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe is approximately a 15-minute drive from Walt Disney World. They will celebrate Good Friday with services at 12:15 pm (with choir), 3:00 pm, 3:30 pm, and 6:00 pm (with choir, Liturgy and Holy Communion).

In our home, Easter celebrations are not complete without beautiful flowers and delicious food. The 2019 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival would be a delightful destination after Mass. The breathtaking gardens and tasty bites that you will find at the outdoor kitchens are sure to make your Good Friday complete!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and please come back with any additional questions.

I wish you glad tidings ~ Rayna
