Hello! We'll be staying at Port Orleans Riverside and are hoping to have a 8:00am Crystal Palace reservation. The Magic Kingdom does not open until 9:00am. I heard the buses don't begin running until an hour before the parks open. What are our options?

Hi, Jennifer! A before-park-opening breakfast at The Crystal Palace is a must-do for my family each trip. Who can resist Pooh’s Puffed French Toast and Breakfast Lasagna? Yum! Since you will be in the park before the crowds arrive, you can get fantastic family photos taken by Disney's PhotoPass photographers on a pretty empty Main Street, U.S.A. We always get a picture in front of Cinderella Castle and use that for our holiday cards. Everyone always wants to know why it looks like we have the whole park to ourselves. It is our magical little secret!

While Magic Kingdom Park may not be scheduled to open until 9:00 a.m. on the day you plan to visit, you will be able to utilize Disney Transportation buses to make your breakfast reservation. The buses to the theme parks do not begin regular operation until an hour before park opening, but there are special early breakfast reservation buses that will begin picking up Guests at all Disney Resorts as early as 6:30 a.m. - 6:45 a.m. I usually get everyone out to the bus stop by 7:00 - 7:15 a.m. for an early breakfast at 8:00 a.m.

Please check the current park schedule in the weeks leading up to your vacation, as well as when you arrive, as sometimes I do see Magic Kingdom Park opening pushed up an hour. You would then need to decide if you want to spend that first hour of the morning riding rides or eating breakfast. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with little wait or Pooh’s Puffed French Toast … that is a tough call!

I hope you are successful in securing an Advanced Dining Reservation with Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, too! Please let me know if you have any further questions.
