Hi! We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside in Feb and I wanted to know if we can park for free at other resorts, besides the one we are staying at. Are there limitations in the amount of time you can park at other resorts? Do you

    Welcome, Kristin!

Oh boy, a winter escape to the Walt Disney World Resort sounds perfect! My family loves visiting in February when our mid-Atlantic region feels trapped in an eternal winter. I just stayed at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside last month and am happy to share the details for parking at other Disney Resorts Collection hotels.

Parking at the many Disney resorts around property is intended for Guests staying at that resort and those visiting to enjoy a dining reservation. This policy is enforced by the security guards as you arrive and is subject to change based on capacity. In my experience, most resorts have a sign posted now declaring that parking is exclusively for overnight Guests or while enjoying a dining reservation at that property. Parking space is limited so it is not intended for long-term use such as parking for a nearby theme park or while visiting multiple destinations. Be sure to have your MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile Pass, or My Disney Experience App nearby when you arrive to another resort. The security team will confirm where you’re staying or any dining plans to direct you where to go next for your stay.

These grounds are so beautiful, you’re going to love the lush magnolia trees and stunning columns of the Southern style architecture. I had a rental vehicle last month and found parking to be plentiful when I needed it near my room at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. Be sure to pick up a physical map of the property so you can find a parking spot right next to your building, and check out our planDisney pocket guide to this great resort.

I adore visiting other Disney Resort Collection hotels, so I hope you can make some dining reservations during your stay and use their onsite parking for the duration of your meal. Some of my favorite restaurants located within resorts are:

    • ‘Ohana and Kona Café at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
    • Whispering Canyon at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort
    • Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riveria at Disney’s Riviera Resort
    • Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
    • Cape May Café at Disney’s Beach Club Resort
    • Yachtsman Steak House at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
    • Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
    • Boma at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

There are so many wonderful restaurants to choose from, so you really can’t go wrong. I encourage you to explore all the amazing things the Walt Disney World Resort has to offer, and having a vehicle will help you efficiently get from one resort to another during your stay.

Please let us know what other questions you have, or how we can help you make the most of this special visit.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Amy
