Hot diggity dog, Jade. I’m always excited to welcome a fellow pet parent to planDisney!
Fort Wilderness is such a fun resort for pups, so I totally understand wanting to bring your dog for a visit. A few years ago, I stayed in one of the
cabins with my friend’s dogs and we had a great time introducing them to some Disney magic!
Unfortunately, the Waggin’ Trails Dog Park is a special amenity intended for Fort Wilderness resort guests and their pups. Additionally, resort parking is often restricted to overnight guests and folks with a dining or activity reservation.
However, you and your dog are sure to have lots of fun at
Port Orleans Riverside! I love to walk around the river there and it’s about a mile. You can even make it longer by going in and out of the paths by the different buildings. This is a practically perfect place to give your dog a bit of exercise, and it’s so relaxing and picturesque!
There are a few things I wanted to mention to help you and your pup prepare for your vacation. Be sure to have your dog’s up-to-date vaccination records available in case you’re asked to show them. Dogs aren’t allowed unattended in your room for more than seven hours at a time, so if you’re planning a long park day you might want to look into daycare at the nearby
Best Friends Pet Hotel (it's less than a five minute drive from Port Orleans Riverside!). My friend boarded her dogs there towards the end of our trip when we knew we'd be busy with a birthday celebration.
Finally, Housekeeping generally won’t enter rooms with unattended dogs inside and will confirm when you’re taking your pup out for a walk. I’d recommend calling them in the morning to give them a heads-up and putting your “Room Occupied” hanger on the door when your dog is inside. Click

I’m wishing you and your pup a barking good time at Disney World! If you have any other questions, we’d love to have you back at planDisney.
