I am staying at Port Orleans French Quarter (moderate resort) and I thought our room included a microwave but it does not. Am I able to request one and does it cost additional money?

Hey there, Jessica! Welcome to planDisney!

You're going to have such a wonderful stay at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter!  Of all the Disney Resorts Collection hotels my family has stayed in, this seems to be our tried and true Resort.  We love the fact that it's smaller than some of the other Moderate Resorts, the theming is fun and functional, and we LOVE the fact that you can mosey between both Port Orleans -French Quarter and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, and use both pools!  Even when we venture out to other Disney Resorts for our stay, we always end up visiting Port Orleans - French Quarter to get our Mickey Beignets at Scat Cat's Club - Cafe!

When you stay at Port Orleans - French Quarter, you are correct, a microwave does not come standard in each and every Guest room.  However, if you need one there are a couple of options for you! First, you may request one as part of your room reservation by calling the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line at (407) 939-1936.  This will put you in touch with a Cast Member who can add this request to your current room reservation.  You can also simply make the request at the Front Desk of your Resort upon arrival.  Microwaves are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, so they cannot be guaranteed, but if it's possible one can be put into your room for your stay free of charge.

If you are not able to get a microwave added to your room, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is still the perfect place to stay.  At Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory (the food court at the Resort) you'll find a microwave available for Guest use, and the best part is it's just a short walk from any room at the Resort. Here, they also have delicious treats like Prime Rib Dip and Walt Disney’s Favorite Chili in a Bread Boule.

If you have the chance, take a lazy river ride to Disney Springs on the complimentary Water Transportation provided at the Resort. Once there, you'll find some of the most exciting shopping and dining around the 40 square miles of the Walt Disney World Resort!

    Enjoy your trip!
