We will be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter beginning Tuesday, May 7th. Can I request a microwave in the room through this site?

You're almost there, Karen! Welcome to planDisney where we climb the mountain and cross the river to help guests. Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just around the corner, so let's look at amenities at your Disney Resort Hotel.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is one of the most gorgeous hotels on property, so I'm excited you'll be spending time in the bayou. Rooms will have a cooling mini-fridge and coffee maker, but microwaves are not standard. I chatted with a beignet-loving Cast Member who said a limited number of microwaves are available to guests who request them, but there are no guarantees.

My tip is to call Disney Resort Hotel Reservations before you arrive and ask them to make a note about the microwave on your reservation. If there's a medical need, please include that in the request. Also, mention it at the Front Desk when you arrive to ensure they know your request. I'm crossing my fingers and kissing some frogs so you'll have all the comforts of home during your stay!

Another option is to head to the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory. This festive food court typically has a microwave and toaster for guests to use. When my family stayed at this resort a few years ago, my dad popped popcorn in the food court microwave so he could have a bedtime snack back in our room.

Karen, just like Tiana, you know exactly where you're going! I hope your visit is full of magic and croaking princes. Please stop by planDisney anytime!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
