Ahoy there, Kermit! Thanks for cruising by planDisney with your question. The countdown to your land and sea adventure is on, and it’s going to be unforgettable!
I’m so happy to share that Disney Cruise Line does offer
ground transportation from both Disney’s Port Orleans Resort –
Riverside and
French Quarter to
Port Canaveral for an additional per-person fee. It’s such a convenient option and one of my favorite ways to kick off a Disney Cruise! However, please note that at this time, Disney does not offer transportation from Walt Disney World Resort Hotels to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale.
To arrange this service, you’ll want to add ground transfers to your cruise reservation in advance, either in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App, by
calling Disney Cruise Line directly, or through your travel professional. Once booked, you’ll receive details about your pickup time and location the day before you set sail.
One of the best perks is that Disney takes care of your luggage! You’ll receive special Disney Cruise Line luggage tags in your documents. Just have your tagged bags ready inside your room by the time noted in your pre-departure letter (usually around 7:00 AM), and they’ll magically appear outside your stateroom door onboard. All you need is your day bag with any essentials you’ll need before your stateroom is ready.
The motorcoach ride to Port Canaveral takes about an hour, and Guests using Disney’s transfers are often assigned earlier boarding groups, allowing you to board the ship a little sooner compared to those arriving on their own. Still, I recommend selecting the earliest Port Arrival Time available when you complete online check-in, just to be safe and ready to start the fun as soon as possible!
If you have any more questions or want to chat about your ship or itinerary, we’re all ears, Kermit! Wishing you smooth sailing and sunshine ahead!
Warmly,
Eean
