We are staying at the PO-Riverside and have 8:05am res at the Tusker House. I was told you can get everywhere by bus, but now I am worried about the times the buses run that early. Is there a bus running early enough for us to get to our 8:05a destination?

    Hi Crystal,

Officially the Disney buses start running one hour before park opening time. So if the Animal Kingdom opens at 9:00, then the buses won't start going there until 8:00. There are often special character meal buses that run earlier than that, but you'd need to double check with the front desk of your hotel to confirm that this is happening during the time of your visit.

I think it's GREAT that you have the first morning reservation at Tusker House. It's a wonderful restaurant with fun characters. Eating at 8:05 means that you'll be fed and ready to go when the park opens at 9:00. And you'll be right next to the Kilimanjaro Safari, so you can one of the first in line for that attraction.

However, in your shoes, I'd plan to take a taxi to the Animal Kingdom for your breakfast. Personally, I get nervous about waiting for the bus when I have an early reservation. The Bell Services desk at POR can call you a cab. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes and will cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $15. This small expense will give you peace of mind that you're not going to miss your reservation time.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
