Hello, we will be staying at POR, how do we go about ensuring we get a room with the fold down youth bed? Want to make sure we have 2 queen beds and the fold down bed so everyone has their own bed for the 12 days we will be there! Thanks for the help!

Hi, Amanda! I do not blame you one bit for wanting to get a room with that extra pull-down bed! Having your own bed to sleep in each night is absolutely wonderful after a full day in the theme parks. The pull-down beds that have been showing up in several Walt Disney World Resort guest rooms are so handy and are perfectly sized for small kids. My younger daughter quickly claims it as her personal spot whenever there is one in our room. She will not even let us sit on it!

The best way I know of to make sure you have one of those pull-down beds in your room at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is to book a room in the Preferred category. All of the regular guest rooms in this booking category have been equipped with the seating bench that converts into the pull-down bed. If you book a room in either Standard, Garden View, River View, or Pool View category, then you may be placed in one of the Magnolia Bend buildings that do not have the pull-down beds. Also, be aware that all of the Royal Guest Rooms are found in Magnolia Bend buildings.

You can book one of the other room categories I mentioned and call in to Disney Resort Reservations to have them put a request on your reservation for placement in a room with the pull-down bed. However, this is merely a request and it cannot be guaranteed. In my personal opinion, I do find that the small price increase of the Preferred category is worth it considering you know you will get the sleeping arrangements you want and you will end up being really close to the main building's dining options and transportation.

Thank you so much for stopping by, Amanda. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
