Hi. We will be staying at the pops resort and have breakfast reservations at the grand Floridian at 8:15am. I understand that we have to catch the monorail at Magic Kingdom to get to the resort. Do they allow extra time for transportation issues?

    Hello Cynthia,

When it comes to advance dining reservations, it is suggested you arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. This allows for those moments when transportation or longer lines or maneuvering the crowds and other such magical hiccups may get in the way. Transportation, to further out of the way dining destinations, can be a little tricky to figure out, my number one piece of advice is always allow yourself a good amount of travel time. But in the few cases I have arrived a little bit late, due to a delay of this or that, I have not had a problem keeping my advance dining reservation at the restaurant. I may have had to wait a little bit longer but what's the rush, I'm at Walt Disney World.

All that being said, if traveling from Disney's Pop Century Resort to Disney Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, estimate about 45 minutes to an hour of travel time. Board a bus from your resort to Magic Kingdom park. Once there, make your way to the Resort Monorail, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is your fourth stop after boarding.

If you find yourself running late, taxis are readily available at the front of all Walt Disney World Resorts to whisk you away to your destination. Typically, with tip, a one way trip is about $20.

If I can be of any further pixie dusted assistance feel free to ask and may  your upcoming stay at Walt Disney World be filled with many magical and memorable moments.
