Staying Pop/deluxe din/water parks pkg. What do you recommend for our first (arrive at MCO noon) and last day (depart 4 pm)? Thinking about water park or downtown disney. What is best for 7yr old for destination/dining/time? First trip for both of us!!

    Hi Heather,

I love the idea of Downtown Disney or a water park to start or end your trip at the Walt Disney World Resorts. This allows you to get some energy out but not use a whole day ticket at a park. You can then go to bed early and be rested to head out the next day rested.

If you pick a water park, head to Blizzard Beach as it is great for children. There are many family rides and a great area to walk on icebergs at Ski Patrol Training Camp.

Downtown Disney is great for shopping and other fun activities. You can use one of your options at DisneyQuest which is an indoor video game venue. You can also go bowling or see a movie. Some fun dining options are Earl of Sandwich, Raglan Road or Bongos.

As for the rest of your trip, sit down with your seven year old and figure out what he or she wants to do.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
    Beth
