We'll be staying at Pop and have quick service DDP. My mother has an egg allergy and got worried when looking at Pop's breakfast menu. All the entrees listed seem to contain eggs. Can a substitution be made? like oatmeal with fruit instead of an om

    Hi Anne Marie,

Thanks so much for sending your question to us here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  I've traveled a number of times with family members who have food allergies or special diets, so I completely understand your mother's worry.  However, I think you'll be impressed by how accommodating the restaurants are to your dietary needs.

At any of the dining locations, I'd let a Cast Member know before ordering about the allergy so that he or she can help you determine which food options are safe.  Often, the chef will be able to speak with you personally,  and there may even be items that you don't see on the menu that are available.  As an example, I've heard that the gluten-free waffles are also egg-free, so she might be able to enjoy a classic Mickey Waffle for breakfast.  Yum!  You can find lots more information on the Special Dietary Requests page.  After reading through that, if you have any questions or concerns, you can also email Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com for assistance.

There's another option on the Quick-Service Dining Plan that might be great for your mother, as well.  Changes were made over the summer that now allow you to exchange one Quick-Service Meal for 3 Snacks.  This swap just has to be done in one location in a single transaction, so be sure to let the Cast Member ringing up your transaction know before you pay.  The eligible Snack options were also expanded and now include additional items (where available) like oatmeal, a side of bacon and cold cereal with milk.  This might be the perfect way to put together a breakfast that meets her needs and gets her ready for a pixie-dusted day in the parks.

I hope that helps, Anne Marie!  Wishing you delicious dining and a magical vacation!
