    Hi! We are staying at POP but are desperate for Tonga Toast! The plan is to stop at Captain Jacks before MK. What time should we leave POP in order to stop and Poly and still make it for the rope drop? Bus or Taxi? Prepared for an ealy morning

    Emily,

    TONGA TOAST! YUM!

    The easiest way to get to Captain Cooks in the Polynesian for your Tonga Toast is to take the bus to the Magic Kingdom, then take the monorail around. Don't waste your money on a cab!

    Once you know what time the park opens, plan on the following times;

    • 5 - 15 minute bus wait at Pop Century
    • 30 minutes bus ride from Pop Century to the Magic Kingdom
    • 10 - 15 minute monorail ride from the Magic Kingdom to the Polynesian resort
    • Eating time (for me, about 12 seconds, maybe 13 if I burp in the middle of the meal)
    • 10 - 15 minute return trip to the Magic Kingdom
    So probably 1 to 1 1/2 hours should do the trick. Most days you will find that the buses will start running a little more than an hour before the park opens, so check to see if that is the case, and if you will get enough time to eat and get back to the Magic Kingdom for the rope drop. Your resort staff will be able to get you some info on the daily bus start times.

    I hope that helps?

    Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
