we are staying at the pop century value resort ...it looks like fun for our 7 yo , but what about the food? Any suggestions for dinners? I was told to experience Epcot for dinner nitly if possible but I"m concerned with the price...tight budget and al

    Stacy,

Will your family be using the Disney Dining Plan when you visit?  If budget is a concern, I think you have 2 options.

    A) Keep food costs to a minimum and eat only counter service meals for the cheapest dining possible

    B) Purchase the Disney Dining Plan so that your food costs are fixed, yet you still get to experience character meals and other table service restaurants.

You definitely need to keep in mind, however, that the DDP does not include gratuity, so for each table service meal you enjoy, there will be another 15-20% that you will need to pay apart from the cost of the plan.  Just something to keep in mind while budgeting.

I also have a 7 year old, and she loves character meals.  Even if you want to keep costs down, you could still pay as you go for quick service meals and attend just one character meal.  The thing to remember is that breakfasts cost less than dinners, so if you're not on the dining plan, you may want to eat early to save a few dollars.

    Happy planning!
