Hi Sarah!
Thanks for popping by planDisney with this great question. I'm happy to help!
I love staying at a resort with
Disney Skyliner access. It feels like an attraction in itself and is such a magical way to begin and end your day in the parks. I'm also a big fan of
Disney's Pop Century Resort, so great choice there! We always make sure to pose with that iconic Mickey telephone sculpture each time we visit and take a dip in the Hippy Dippy Pool. It's a totally groovy way to cool down and chill out on your arrival or rest days.
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort serves as the central Disney Skyliner hub which operates three distinct lines as part of its gondola system. You can
view a map of the routes around the halfway mark in the embedded video in this Disney Parks Blog post. The entire system is scheduled for a maintenance closure from January 16-21 as you mentioned. If all goes as scheduled, the main portion of maintenance will be completed the day before your arrival while Skyliner access to Disney's Riviera Resort and EPCOT will remain unavailable through January 27. Guests will be unable to access this line from Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, but should still have access to the route between Caribbean Beach and Disney's Art of Animation Resort/Pop Century as well as the line that runs from Caribbean Beach and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Keep in mind that availability is always subject to change and the Skyliner can experience weather-related closures from time to time. Guests will have access to
Walt Disney World Bus Service between the affected resorts and theme parks during any closure periods.
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, my personal favorite, is set to delight guests during your travel dates so you'll definitely want to utilize the complimentary bus service to check out all the artful and delicious offerings around World Showcase. I'll be there around the same time letting my creative juices flow and likely enjoying a beverage from one of the
Food Studios, too!
I hope this was helpful, Sarah. If you have any additional questions please don't hesitate to pop back and let us know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
