We are staying at the Polynesian and we thinking of watching the fireworks from the beach there. Does it get very crowded? From what I understand there are sets available etc...

    Amy,

As with all things at Disney, the beaches get more crowded during busier times of the year, and are almost barren during the slow months. That being said, the crowds are usually manageable, bordering on light.

Typically the hammocks are snapped up very early, and whatever seating remains is also taken fairly early on. Assume that your seat will be in the sand, and plan accordingly. If you get to grab a chair or hammock then you already ahead in the game.

Also note that the sound is typically piped in from the park to speakers along the beach. Ask desk staff at the resort if any of the beach's systems are not currently working, to be sure you get the right viewing area. Having the sound played makes it far more enjoyable. There are basically three beach areas. There is the area behind the Luau Cove, by the Hawaii longhouse, and by the Tahiti longhouse. I like the one by the Hawaii longhouse so I can get some beverages, but the Tahiti one seems more secluded, which certainly sets the South Seas mood a bit more.
