Hi! we are staying at the polynesian in sept.-we have chosen the park view room-is it worth the difference in price or should we request room closer to main house? Also, is it worth paying for Kamehameha club level access.

Hi, Barbara!  I think the value in the type of room you choose depends largely on how much time you plan to spend at the resort versus time spent in the theme parks.  The same goes for club level.

On my last visit to the Polynesian, we had a Magic Kingdom view.  It was during the Christmas holidays, and my family tends to spend more time at the resort on the busy days, like Christmas and New Year's eve.  I would say on that trip, we saw the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom every night of our stay from our room, with some snacks or dessert for the kids on the balcony.  It was truly a wonderful experience to be removed from the hustle and bustle of the holiday crowds, while still enjoying the magic of the fireworks show!

If you plan to do late extra magic hours, roll in late in the evening, be away from the resort all day long, then you probably won't be there to take advantage of the amazing view.  The same goes for the Club level. If you will be there at the resort to enjoy some of the refreshments, then it might be a better value to spend the extra money, as you'll be taking advantage of the extra amenities.

Consider your plan for your upcoming vacation, and determine whether you've planned a lot of down time to lounge at the resort, or if your time there is going to be minimal at best.  That will help you decide if the extra money for the view or the club level is worth it to your family.

    Have a great vacation!
