We are staying at the Polynesian and have a 9:30AM reservation at Chef Mickey's. What time should we plan to leave to make it to the Contemporary in time for our reservation? We will be traveling via monorail. Thank you!

    Welcome Jo!

Your Walt Disney World Vacation is right around the corner! Right now you are dreaming, but you will be riding High in the Sky on your way to break your fast with Mickey and the Gang in no time. Blink and you'll be there. It's really exciting.

You have certainly chosen to stay right in the heart of the magic at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Excellent call. There isn't a Longhouse that we don't love, and who can resist an evening sampling the flavors of the South Seas at Trader Sam's Grog Grotto

I am the kind of person who is chronically late for everything other than the airport and a Disney Dining Reservation. I like to build a little time-buffer into the plan to account for a teenager who can't find the shoes she wore ten minutes ago or a bit of a wait on the Monorail platform. So, if I were heading to Disney's Contemporary Resort for a 9:30 AM Chef Mickey's Advance Dining Reservation, I would plan to leave my actual room at 8:30 AM.  That gives you plenty of time to walk to The Great Ceremonial House and up the stairs to the Monorail platform, board, relax and ride for two stops, exit, hop on the escalator down the stairs, check out the Disney Cruise Line ship replica, collect a Disney Vacation Club sticker or two, and check-in for breakfast. You know, the must-dos.

If you arrive a little early, you can enjoy some of the best Disney Resort hotel shops, in my opinion. They always have something unique at Bayview Gifts or Fantasia. If you still have some exploration time, test yourself at the trivia board always located outside Fantasia Market. Sometimes, they get pretty tricky! I'm sure they are no match for you, Jo!

I hope that helps you with your morning plan. Let us know what other questions come up for you in the next few days before you head out. We are here for you!

    Wishing you many magical memories,

    Sally
