Hi! We are going to be staying at The Polynesian the last week in December to celebrate New Year's Eve. Will we be able to have dinner at The Grand Floridian on New Year's Eve even though we will not be staying at that resort?

    Hi Alice,

Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your dining question! Oh boy, what an exciting time to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth! A few years ago, my extended family traveled from New Jersey to ring in the New Year at Disney World—it was an unforgettable celebration with over 25 of us! It was definitely a core memory, that I will never forget!

Now, let’s dive right into your question! You’ll be happy to know that even though you’re staying at Polynesian Resort, you’re not limited to dining just at your resort. You’re welcome to enjoy meals at any Disney Resort, theme park (with valid admission), or Disney Springs.

Here are a few pro tips to help you make the most of your dining experience:

    • Book dining reservations in advance – As a Disney Resort hotel Guest, which you will be,  you can start making dining reservations for your entire length of stay (up to 10 nights) 60 days before your arrival. Popular spots like ‘Ohana, Cinderella’s Royal Table, and Space 220 fill up quickly, so be sure to book early! This also tends to be a popular time of the year, so take advantage of your booking window.
    • Take advantage of the Monorail – Since you’re staying at the Polynesian, hopping on the Monorail makes it a breeze to visit restaurants at the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary Resort. A quick ride can take you to delicious dining experiences like Narcoossee’s, Citricos, and Steakhouse 71!
Alice, I hope you have a practically perfect stay at the Polynesian and a magical dining experience! If you have any more questions, please stop by again.

    See you real soon,

    Christina
