We are staying at the Polynesian. Have any of the buildings recently been renovated?

    Hi, Lesley!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. You've asked a great question! Disney's Polynesian Resort is one of my two favorite Walt Disney World resorts (the other is Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge)! I think it's always a good idea to find out when the most recent renovation occurred for any resort hotel where you're planning to stay. I'm happy to report that all of the Polynesian's buildings -- or "longhouses" -- have recently undergone (or are scheduled to undergo) extensive renovations!

Here is a list of the specific Polynesian Resort longhouses with their renovation dates:

    Aotearoa - April 2013
    Fiji - May 2013
    Hawaii - January 2013
    Niue - March 2013
Rapa Nui - August to October 2013 (projected rehab dates)
    Rarotonga - March 2013
    Samoa - February 2013
Tahiti - under rehab currently (July 2013)
    Tokelau - March 2013
    Tuvalu - June 2013
Tonga - new room decor added 2011; new lounge May 2013

I hope this helps you in planning your Polynesian Resort stay! Come visit us again here at the Moms Panel with any other questions. We love to help Guests plan magical vacations!
