I will be staying at the Poly and have tickets for the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on 8.23.24. When can I make dinner reservations for the party? Can the early reservation be made at a Disney Resort, or does it have to be at Magic Kingdom?

Hi there, Shawnee, and welcome to planDisney! How exciting is it that you'll be enjoying your Walt Disney World Resort vacation in just a few short weeks? Now is the perfect time to think about your dining options, and I'm thrilled to share some tips with you!

Shawnee, you're going to have a wickedly good time at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! It's one of my very favorite events! You can make Advance Dining Reservations 60 days before you check in to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel, or 60 days before the day you'd like to dine, if you're not a Disney Resorts Collection hotel Guest. Dining reservations may be made throughout Walt Disney World Resort, in the Disney Theme Parks, at Disney Springs, and at the Disney Resorts Collection hotels. If you're dining within a theme park, you'll need valid park admission to enter. I recommend eating a very early dinner at a Disney Resort hotel located on the Monorail before heading into Magic Kingdom Park for the party.

I was able to attend this party recently, and there are a couple of things I would have done differently to maximize my time there. Guests are allowed to enter Magic Kingdom Park as early as 4:00pm for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and I highly recommend going ahead and entering at that time to enjoy everything you possibly can - the time passes by surprisingly quickly! My family opted to arrive around 6pm and we took a few photos before heading straight to eat dinner at a quick-service restaurant in Magic Kingdom Park. While our dinner was delicious and satisfied our hunger, we missed out on some valuable party time while we were eating.

I'd heard that the unique performances were cool, but I didn't prioritize them over the attractions. I wish I'd paid more attention to the timing of the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular, because I caught the end of it and wished I'd been there for the whole performance! I am so thankful that we made sure to get a good spot to watch Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, because the sight of the Headless Horseman is a memory I'll cherish forever!

If you have little ones, you'll be happy to know that there is plenty of fun to be had before bedtime. You'll typically see shorter wait times for attractions during this after-hours event, meaning you can experience lots of attractions in a shorter time frame. It's a great way to make the most of your evening with little ones!

I hope this is helpful as you plan for a spooktacular vacation! Please stop back by planDisney with any other questions you have as you continue to count down to your arrival!

    See you real soon!
