Going to be staying at Poly in September. While I will be taking full advantage of Dole whips at Capt. Cooks, My boys love ice cream. My question is can you do take out at Kona cafe? My boys would love to get a kona kone and eat on beach THX!!

    Hi, Stephanie!

Your trip is practically right around the corner! You're going to fall in love with Disney's Polynesian Resort -- it's one of the original Walt Disney World Resort hotels and definitely has its own unique island vibe. One of my favorite things to do is to stroll along the pathways lit by tiki torches in the evening and take in the relaxing ambiance of the resort.

I like the way you think! Big Dole Whip fan here, too! I'm so glad you'll be indulging in this iconic treat during your Polynesian sojourn. I love that Capt. Cook's stays open until midnight because I often stop by for a late-night Dole Whip fix! Your boys will be happy to know that they can absolutely order a Kona Kone (or two!) to go from Kona Cafe and then enjoy them on the beach.

Since you've got some ice cream aficionados in your family, there are a few other locations I would recommend you check out during your stay: Plaza Ice Cream Parlor in Magic Kingdom Park, Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney's Beach Club Resort (a 5-minute walk from Epcot's International Gateway side entrance) and Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop at Downtown Disney. Yum!

Wishing you a magical vacation! Please let me know if I can answer any other questions as you finalize plans for your September visit.
