Hello we are staying at poly in October 2025. Will the splash pad construction be over?

Aloha, Olivia! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for sharing your question about the Polynesian Village Resort.

While I love this resort for its beautiful decor, relaxing background music, and the fact that it’s home to Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, my kiddos love it primarily for one reason: the pools. Well, and easy access to DOLE Whip, but it’s mostly for the pools. So I understand wanting to know what aquatic experience awaits you when you arrive at Walt Disney World this fall.

Kiki Tikis Splash Play, located next to the Lava Pool, closed for refurbishment in January 2025 and a completion date has yet to be shared as of the time I’m writing this. While the construction and refurbishment notice on the hotel’s website is a bit light on details, I’d still recommend keeping an eye on that spot for new information. You can find this notice just below the photo gallery on the resort’s main page

It’s not uncommon for resort pools to be refurbished during the cooler winter months in preparation for spring and summer. Hopefully this is the case with Kiki Tikis Splash Play and it will be open for your visit, but if it’s not, there’s no need to fret! There are still a lot of great water play options at the Polynesian. Little ones can enjoy Moana’s Voyage Splash Zone at the newly opened Island Tower, which features a life-size sculpture of Moana and her canoe! Also, the Lava Pool, Cove Pool, and Oasis Pool are all zero-depth entry pools, making them a good option for young swimmers.

Olivia, I hope this helps with your Walt Disney World vacation prep. I could go on and on and on and on about all the great amenities at the Polynesian Village Resort, so don’t hesitate to send me your Polynesian-related questions, or any other questions you may have.

    Magical travels!
