Ahoy, Candice! Welcome ashore to planDisney and thanks for sending your
Beach Club Resort question in our direction.
Your summer vacation will be here before you know it and you’ll be having fathoms of fun at Walt Disney World! How exciting! I can certainly understand why you’d want to make sure Stormalong Bay and its 230-foot water slide are open for your visit. Along with the resort’s proximity to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, the pools and slides are a major selling point!
According to the Beach Club Resort website,
the Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool refurbishment is scheduled to go from January to June 2025, and it describes the work as “routine maintenance.” I double-checked with a friendly Cast Member and they confirmed that a more specific date for completion has not been released at this time. Beach Club Resort’s three other pools—the Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools—are all still currently open.
I’m sorry I can’t provide more detailed information right now, Candice. Be sure to keep an eye on the Walt Disney World website for updates.
If water slides and swimming are an important part of the Disney magic for you and your crew, you may want to consider another resort with epic pools and waterslides. Just across the water is the BoardWalk Inn with the 200-foot-long
Keister Coaster waterslide, and the Polynesian Village Resort’s
Lava Pool features a 142-foot volcano-themed slide. With its pirate fort decor, the
Fuentes del Morro Pool at Caribbean Beach Resort is one of the best-looking pools at Walt Disney World and it has 2 water slides, one of which measures 102 feet. Most of the deluxe and moderate resorts have water slides and multiple pools, but these are a few of my favorites. You have so many great options!
I hope this helps you chart a course towards a wonderful vacation! Sail on back to your mateys at planDisney if you have any other queries, Captain!
Fair seas and following winds!
Matt
