Hi Grace,
Thanks for joining us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
You are about to have a Practically Perfect Disney "Beaches" Vacation. From a celebration of the shores of the South Pacific while lounging in the white sands of Disney's Seven Seas Lagoon, to playing in the crashing waves of the Atlantic in Vero Beach, you are going to have a ball. Remember to bring your sunscreen and always swim in front of a lifeguard!
For now, Guests at
Disney's Vero Beach Resort do not use MagicBands. Instead, you will be given a Keys to the World Card at check-in. This will function similar to the MagicBand you will use while at
Disney's Polynesian Villas and Bungalows but isn't wearable. However, in the days before MyMagic+ at Walt Disney World Resort, many of us used the convenient plastic pockets that attach to the bottom of a
Pin-Trading lanyard to hold our Keys to the World Cards, paper fast-passes of old, and IDs. Maybe this would be the perfect vacation to being, or continue, a Pin Trading hobby!
Since you are about to embark on a beaches vacation, can I interest you in a little Walt Disney World Resort history that is fun to share with guests while cruising Disney's Seven Seas Lagoon? On one of the barrier islands, there exists a no-longer-in-operation wave generator! You see, that is an entirely man-made lagoon. The beautiful sandy beaches were created from the soft sands along the bottom. When the wave machine was in operation, for about two weeks, the gentle waves returned that sand to its original location! So the machine was turned off and remains there today. Neat, right?
Wishing you many magical memories,
Sally
