We are staying at poly December 30- January 2. Will the resort Christmas decorations and gingerbread houses still be up?

    Hello Mary!

It’s always exciting to see a Guest return to see us here on planDisney, so welcome back! The holiday spirit is found throughout the Walt Disney World Resort with gorgeous trees and decorations, nostalgic music, wreaths, baubles, gingerbread displays, and festive treats! Be sure to check out the vintage decor around Disney’s Hollywood Studios, those are my personal favorites. They remind me of the decorations in my hometown when I was a kid. (Does this make me vintage?)

You’ll be happy to know that the holiday decor traditionally stays in place through the New Year Celebration and doesn’t begin coming down until the first week of January. While it’s not a rule, generally the first Monday after the New Year is when the process begins, and it does take several days, so most or all of the decor should still be up for your visit! While no official announcements have been made as to what will return for Christmas 2021, I am hopeful as more things return to normal that the traditional gingerbread displays will be back this year.

Wishing you a magical visit at the most wonderful time of the year!
