Staying at POFQ and renting car this time. Have ADR @ Chef Mickey's and want to spend day @ MK. Should we drive to MK and park, then monorail to and from resort, or drive to resort then drive to park for MK?

    Hi Heather,

I may surprise you here but I would actually recommend you use the Disney buses on this day. The reason I say this is that you can only park at the Contemporary Resort, where Chef Mickey's is located, for a few hours so you would then need to drive to the Ticket and Transportation Centre (the Magic Kingdom parking lot) after your breakfast. From here you'd then need to board a tram and then either catch the monorail or the boat over to the park which can take over 20 minutes. If you were to park at the Ticket and Transportation Centre before your breakfast you would need to ride the resort monorail to the Contemporary but as it is the fourth stop this could take over 20 minutes too.

However if you use the buses you can walk to the Contemporary from the Magic Kingdom bus stop and then back again after your meal in about 5 minutes. At the end of your park day it is often quicker to get back to your resort using the buses rather than boarding the monorail and then the parking lot tram to find your car.

Magic Kingdom is the only Disney park where it's normally quicker to use the buses, all the other parks it's faster to use your own car.

Hope that helps and you have a fantastic trip,

    Jo
